Fife Zoo’s Cubs Club Presents The Big Toddle for Barnardo’s

We’re very excited to announce that Fife Zoo’s Cubs Club is taking part in Barnardo’s Big Toddle 2026, and we’d love our little explorers to join us!
On Thursday 25th June 2026, children will be invited to take part in a special fundraising walk around Fife Zoo in support of Barnardo’s. It’s a lovely chance for young children, families, nurseries and Cubs Club members to enjoy a fun day out at the zoo while helping to raise money for a brilliant cause.
What is The Big Toddle?
The Big Toddle is a child-friendly fundraising walk designed especially for little ones.
Here at Fife Zoo, children will follow a gentle half-mile route around the zoo, making it a manageable and exciting activity for younger children. Along the way, they can enjoy the sights and sounds of the zoo, take part in safari-themed fun, and celebrate completing their toddle with a certificate.
Whether you’re visiting as a family, coming along with friends, or joining us as part of a nursery group, The Big Toddle is all about getting children outdoors, moving, exploring and having fun together.
What’s included?
Tickets are £8 per child, and parents, teachers and carers go free.
Each child taking part will receive:
Entry to The Big Toddle
Juice and biscuits
A safari-themed activity pack
A certificate to celebrate completing their walk
Face painting will also be available on the day for a small additional charge.
Safari-themed activity packs
Every child taking part will receive a safari-themed activity pack, created with young children in mind.
The packs will include a range of fun activities such as:
Animal face masks
Colouring sheets
Spot the difference
Find the animal
Missing letters
Complete the picture
Shadow matching
Zoo trail activities
Safari scene activities
The activity packs have also been designed to support early learning and align with the EYFS curriculum, helping children develop skills through creativity, observation, problem-solving, mark-making, language and exploring the world around them.
This makes The Big Toddle a lovely option for nurseries and early years groups looking for a fun, purposeful outing.
Dress up, go green or become a little explorer
Children are very welcome to get into the spirit of the day.
They can come dressed as their favourite animal, wear one of their animal masks, join us as little explorers, or wear green to show their support for Barnardo’s.
There’s no pressure to dress up, but we’d love to see lots of animal ears, safari hats, green outfits and little adventurers around the zoo!
Fundraising for Barnardo’s
The Big Toddle is being held in support of Barnardo’s, helping to raise funds for their work with children, young people and families.
Sponsor forms are available to download, so children can collect sponsors before the day. We have also set up a JustGiving page for anyone who would prefer to support the fundraising online.
