Our African Bird Encounter gives you the chance to meet some of the cheekiest and most charismatic birds at Fife Zoo.
Step behind the scenes at our African bird aviary, where you’ll get a closer look at the habitat our birds call home and discover what goes into caring for these fascinating species each day. This encounter focuses especially on our beautiful hornbills and rollers, giving you the chance to learn more about their personalities, natural behaviours, diets and the important role birds like these play in the wild.
During your encounter, a member of our team will guide you through the aviary area, share stories about the birds who live here, and explain how we support their wellbeing through specialist care, feeding, enrichment and habitat design.
Whether you’re a keen bird lover, an animal enthusiast, or simply looking for a unique experience during your visit, this encounter offers a memorable opportunity to see some of Fife Zoo’s African birds from a completely different perspective.
Your encounter will typically last around 30 minutes.
